Kameron Walsh from Enniscorthy sat the Leaving Cert Applied in Youthreach, Enniscorthy in June 2018. Kameron achieved the highest national result in Hotel Catering & Tourism, a total of 1,335 students sat the exam.

The Association of Teachers of Home Economics (ATHE) recognised this achievement at the ATHE Annual General Meeting in Athlone on the 10th November 2018. Chef Neven Maguire presented Kameron with a trophy and a signed copy of his latest book.

Youthreach celebrated Kameron’s success on Wednesday 21st November 2018. Hugh J. Dunne Youthreach Co-ordinator made a presentation to Kameron and his Home Economics teacher Sinéad Colfer. Also in attendance at the event were Kevin Lewis, Chief Executive, Waterford Wexford Education & Training Board (WWETB), Liz Duffy, Adult Education Officer WWETB with responsibility for Youthreach. Teachers, staff and

students also attended the event.
