Range Rover Velar set for launch
British luxury SUV manufacturer
Land Rover unveiled the all new
Range Rover Velar SUV in London.
The word Velar is derived from the
Latin dialect Velare means ‘to hide’.
Land Rover used the Velar nameplate
in 1969 to disguise the first generation
Range Rover during the testing phase.
The Current model now represents
Range Rover’s leap in to the future.
Sharing its underpinnings with the
Jaguar F-Pace, it seats in between the
Range Rover Sport and the Evoque.
It is powered by three engine choices
mainly the 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel,
brawny 3.0 litre V6 twin turbo diesel
that generates 700Nm of torque and
the darling of all, the 3.0 litre V6
Supercharged petrol capable of 380
horsepower. Being a Range Rover it

8 series, a new flagship:
from concept to reality
BMW finally lifted the lid on the 8 Series
concept. This vehicle aims to tap the lucra-
tive Grand Tourer market. The first generation
8 Series was built between 1989 to 1999 and
sold just over 30,000 units. It is certainly now
a collectors item. The new 8 series doesn’t
fall far from its predecessors’ tree as it has
been designed for a new generation of mature
gentlemen with discerning taste and money.
It will coupe featuring powerful V8 and V12
engines and comes with subtle cues lifted from
the flame surfacing design seen in the GINA
concept a few years back.
