Goldwagen puts smiles on children’s faces Replacement parts suppliers, Goldwagen, made a generous R45 000 donation to the Smile Foundation at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg on 10 December 2014. Representatives from Goldwagen, one of whom was dressed as Santa Claus, The Smile Foundation and staff from oil company Shell, handed out toys and sweets to children in ward 275 at the hospital, which specifically deals with plastic and reconstructive surgery. Together with the country’s Academic Hospitals, The Smile Foundation works to put the smile back onto children’s faces with free corrective facial reconstructive surgery and treatments. ➲ All smiles as a cheque for R45 000 is handed over Donations such as these help children in need of surgery for treatable facial anomalies such as cleft lip, cleft palate, nose and ear conditions, facial paralysis, burns and other facial conditions. Donations taken to the Macs Three hundred food hampers were distributed to needy families during the 2014 festive season, thanks to a generous donation of R55 000 from MACSauto and MACScool, Ruwag, Diesel-Electric Vaal/ OFS and Springs and Kiloton as well as a further donation of R14 000 from the Rotary Club of Vereeniging. Euro Spar in Three Rivers packed 298 hampers, and kindly sponsored two additional hampers to round it off to 300. ➲ The hampers were gratefully accepted by all and went a little way to alleviate the food shortage amongst the needy The hampers were distributed to the Rainbow Care Feeding Scheme and the Vereeniging Central Methodist Church Feeding Scheme at the St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Leeuhof, Lochvaal Emfuleni Welsyn Sentrum and the Meyerton Methodist Church.
