I find it rather frightening to think that
as Shan points out… it is summer. I
think it was only last month we were
waiting for spring!
Summer has to be my favorite time of
year, but it’s also the time of year when
I find it quite stressful to choose where
I’m going to take the kids on holiday.
This is our biggest issue to date with 89
pages and a dozen new articles. I think
it covers everyone’s tastes.
My daughter is neurotypical and loves
nature, my son has Aspergers and loves
his computer. It’s a dilemma as most
children’s clubs at resorts wouldn’t be
able to cope with the one to one that
my son requires, and he wouldn't play
with the other children and take part in
the activities.
My rant this month is about the value
of research and the perceived trade
offs for other services. I support
research but given the brouhaha this
past week regarding an article loosely
based on some recent research, I can’t
help but be annoyed at such bad
science.
The problem is magnified by the
abstract's poor choice of keywords:
Autistic Spectrum Disorder;
Serial
killer;
Mass murder;
Brain
injury;
Psychosocial stressors and
hence lumps all together.
In conversation a friend told me about a
few companies who specialize in Autism
travelling which tweaked my interest.
I’ve booked with one for July– watch
this space for an article!
I’ve written about a few of the
companies I found here.
