Autistic Spectrum Digest (Autism) Issue 3, January 2014 | Page 2

A new year comes with a lot of promise for most of us, new year, new goals, new horizons. Our resolution this year is to bring you the BEST news and reviews from the Autism Community. Like everyone I know, I am not one for making New Year’s Resolutions but I will toast peace, health and happiness to each and everyone. As we start the New Year, I thought it would be interesting for our readers to have a little history of Autism Daily Newscast and our sister projects as well as our strategies for 2014. You can read all about it in my article for this issue. Shan keeps making this magazine better and better. We have now reached 80 pages which is the maximum per issue and this edition is IMHO amazing. My primary goal for 2014 is to ensure that funding comes in from our various enterprises to be able to support Shan as a full time paid editor. Keeping this in mind, I want to welcome TriLoc as our first full page advertiser. We have reviewed them on our AutismDailyNewscast.com site and it is a pleasure to be able to feature them here. Thanks to everyone out there who supports our vision of bringing the best about autism to those whose lives it impacts. First thing’s first, happy 2014! I must say I’m very excited about this edition, we have a number of exclusives for you and a lot of brilliant news about the future. ASDigest is going from strength to strength with the continued support of you, our subscribers and readers, and we hope to bring you all a bigger, brighter and more user-friendly experience this year. It’s been an interesting month for both research and news, Susan Boyle talking about her recent Asperger’s syndrome diagnosis, an exciting gene mapping research project in San Francisco who have isolated specific points in time when neurological cells change and become ‘autistic’ in nature, This edition has a Time featured photographer, an independent film with its sights set on Hollywood, and real stories from real people. We’ve come a long way in three months! Enjoy the issue!
