Autistic Spectrum Digest (Autism) Issue 12, October 2014 | Page 2

Happy birthday to us!!! Welcome to our anniversary edition! And what a whirlwind the last twelve months has been. This time last year I was polishing up a post graduate diploma in journalism wondering what was going to become of me and my new skill, yet yearning to do something that would make an impact and a difference to people living on the autism spectrum. Twelve months later, I am very proud of what we have all created, even though we’ve changed dramatically since our very first edition. We have decided to offer all readers the chance to have our first edition for free, so that you can see the differences for yourselves. In other news, we are heading once again fro the time of year where the leaves depart from the trees, we begin wearing our more snuggly clothes, and lighting a fire or turning up the heating in our homes. I adore autumn. It is a time of change, of regrowth and of evolution. We too are evolving, our staff, our writers are mostly all on the autism spectrum. We aim to write and produce this magazine for people who are living with autism and ASD’s. We are always looking for exciting writers who have something they would like to share with the world. I remember sitting in my front room thinking that I had something to say – but who would listen? Where could 2 could I find a place to do what I loved doing so much and feel I had a worth? I want to hear your voice! If you would like to contribute and become part of our ever growing team of writers, please get in touch with me at [email protected] and I would love to hear your story. This month we have a mix of articles for you, and the best writers, and articles that have appeared in the last thirty days of news. Enjoy the changes autumn brings with it, and please, put your feet up and enjoy our humble birthday edition!
