As of now the doctors are still working towards finding an ultimate
cure to Autism but we are still not there yet(ICare4Autism,
2017). There are some treatments tailored for every single child
depending on the special care ever individual requires. The
treatments broadly includes things like educational programme
and behavioural therapy. This helps the individual to understand
their behaviour and try and be less triggered by the environment.
Autism is not a disease as we put it across like but instead it
is more like a state of mind where someone who is unaware
of something is what he/she is teased about. They are surely
different from others but we all are, aren’t we?
Even though there have been laws and informative campaigns
that have helped people become more tolerant towards Autistics
there was felt a need of an organisation that could help people
understand, ‘What it’s like being Autistic?’
That’s how about 50 years ago National Autistic Society i.e
a charity based in UK started for Autistic people and their
families(Autism.org.uk, 2017).
National Autistic society is a charity based in UK for autistic
people and their families. They include people with Asperger
syndrome as a part of their major focus area. They is leading
help for people as they provide information, support and
pioneering services for the autistic people.
Based on their experience, and support of their members,
donors and volunteers, they provide life-changing information
and advice to millions of autistics out there. They support
professionals, politicians and the public to understand autism
better so more autistic people of all ages can be understood,
supported and appreciated for who they are, ‘Until everyone
understands!’
