Pushing Back the Darkness is Laura’s first fiction novel. She has worked on this book for three years.
This book was inspired by and written after a series of dreams Laura had. After meeting owners of
Elijah’s Rising in Houston, TX and learning about the crisis of human trafficking in America, she felt as if
Christians needed to step up and become aware. How can our young people help lend a hand and
fight in this modern predicament? Laura wanted to be a voice. She wanted to write a modern story that
was not boring and vanilla and yet still remained biblical. She would like to be considered for speaking
future speaking engagements concerning this topic as well.
