Kathy Burns is the author of "Weep No More My Soul". She is the single mom of Jasmine Burns -Anthony.
Kathy loves being with children and the elderly. She also enjoys working in the community. Kathy loves
listening to Jazz and Gospel music. Reading is also something she loves to do. She crocheted 118 beanies
for premature babies and children @MUSC and is currently crocheting hats, scarves and mittens for the
homeless for the winter.
Becoming a mother through adoption really blessed Kathy. She says her daughter is her ultimate blessing.
Truly a blessing within a blessing. When asked what makes her family special, Kathy stated, "We may argue
or disagree with one another, but whenever in need, we are there for one another without any hesitation
or questions. We are our brother/sisters keepers."
Every Sunday, they have dinner at her mom's with all of her siblings and their children. This has been a
tradition for over 20 years. Kathy states that her mom, Marie Rouse, (80) keeps the family together. She lost
her father, Elijah Rouse, 6 years ago.
Kathy states that motherhood did change her life. "Motherhood taught me how to love unconditionally.",
she says. Her family lives authentically by believing in the Power of God!
Her book, "Wee No More My Soul" is about diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 49.It goes into
detail about the things and people she had to give up that was hindering her relationship with GOD.
Kathy is in the process of writing her second book, which she will share her blessing on becoming a parent
through adoption. It is set to release late September.
