1 . When did you first start writing ?
I first started writing over thirty years ago as a religious / philosophical columnist for the Frost Illustrated Newspaper in Fort Wayne , Indiana .
2 . What motivated you to become an author ?
I was strongly motivated to become an author when I learned God had a message for me to share with the world pertaining to sexual abuse and the affects it has on children and the hardships they face as they become adults .
3 . Tell us a little about your book
My current book , “ Charge of an Angel ” is the first of the “ Love and Redemption Series . It is about establishing the foundation of truth to how children become unique individuals after molestation . It is not a sob story . More than anything , it reveals a powerful reality of the intertwining of sexuality and spirituality . This book will lead you into the series that will show who and what these children become as they pursue God and love .
4 . If there was one message that you would hope a reader takes away from your book , what would it be , and why ?
My main message would be : The truth will set you free if you let it . No matter what you experience in life , you must realize life does not care how you feel . What are you going to do ? Love and save yourselves at all times for you are the first child you ever had .
6 . Do you remember the first story you ever wrote ?
Oh yes ! It was a very phenomenal experience . I had no ideal I could write . It was like the Spirit of God was talking to me and controlling the keyboard on my computer . It was awesome ! I wrote about a little girl pleading for the angels to protect her from a monster who kept taking her out of her bed in the middle of the night while she was sleeping . Later she learned the monster was her father . This marked the beginning of my journey to write about molestation and the intrinsic threading of its unfolding inside and out and how the souls of a child process it .
7 . What motivates you to continue writing
I am motivated to keep writing based on the feedback I get from others who have be strengthened and encouraged by my work . When they discover someone really gets it , it tends to help their mind face the fact that it was not all insane after all .
8 . When you are not writing , how do you spend your time ?
When I am not writing , I am either seeking or doing healthy activity to stay healthy like exercise , yoga , walking and researching for natural remedies to take care of my mind , body and soul . And , I enjoy my family .
9 . What words of encouragement would you say to others who may want to become an author ?
5 . What audience do you think would be interested or would benefit in reading your book ?
For sure those who have been sexually abused , dealt with domestic violence , believe in God and love , and people who would like to understand them better . It is also an excellent relationship source for people suffering with their sexual identity . Counselors , therapists and psychologists really should read it also because they will understand the inner-woven of the mental processes of victims in a very intimate way .
I am a firm believer that each author has someone out there waiting to read what he or she has to write . Don ’ t delay their fulfillment . And , know there is only one you therefore your work is authentic so know it is automatically valuable even if only one person realize it .
10 . Do you have any upcoming events that you would like to share ?
Right now I am just beginning the groundwork for radio show interviews , speaking engagements and book signings . My mom recently has finally been the status of cancer free so I feel freer about focusing on my writing career again .
