The Alps
Physical Map
The physical map above shows that there is a mountain range that covers about half of Austria. If you look on page 3 you can see that not many people live in the mountains. The mountain range is called the Alps and they are one of the tallest mountain ranges in Europe. People don't live in mountainous regions because the climate and precipitation and vary greatly and most people don't like those conditions.
