TGA approves reduction in Epipen ®
and Epipen ® Jr injection time from
ten to three seconds
EpiPen ® and EpiPen ® Jr Adrenaline (epinephrine) Auto-Injectors, which
are PBS listed for the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis, have received
an approval from the TGA to reduce the injection hold time from 10 to 3
seconds. 1 The approval is based on clinical research confirming efficacy and
delivery of the full dose of adrenaline within a 3 second delivery window. 2,3
