The zoo has a team of over 500 staff who believe in "conservation through ex-
citing education” and will ensure you have a wildlife experience you will nev-
er forget. A state-of-the-art wildlife hospital has also been opened at Aus-
tralia Zoo. The journey to and from Australia Zoo takes in all the sights of the
majestic Glasshouse Mountains bordered by pineapple plantations and pine forests. Daintree Dreaming is one of Tropical North Queensland’s most intimate and authentic
Aboriginal tour experiences and will take you on a cultural journey from coast to
rainforest. The Kuku Yalanji people of Tropical North Queensland will welcome you to
their lands on this engaging cultural tour. Visit Cooya Beach for a coastal walk, where
you will learn traditional hunting and gathering skills as you search for "bush tucker"
of mud crabs, fish and mussels before tasting and sharing what you have caught and
gathered. A short drive away is the lush rainforest of Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre
where you will enjoy lunch before experiencing the splendour of the World Heritage
listed Daintree Rainforest. Experience a traditional welcome to country smoking
ceremony and then a guided interpretive walk through the Daintree Rainforest,
finishing with a refreshing swim in the clear cool waters of Mossman Gorge. Join this small group wildlife and rainforest tour to see rare Australian wildlife by day
and by night. Departing in the afternoon, you will be taken southwest of Cairns to the
Atherton Tablelands, to discover the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. During the
daylight hours your guide will lead you to find the elusive platypus, wallaby, musky rat
kangaroo and Boyd’s Forest Dragon in the rainforests around Lake Eacham, Lake
Barrine and the magnificent Cathedral Fig Tree. Dinner is included at a country
restaurant in the town of Yungaburra and once night falls you will venture back into
the rainforest to see more wildlife! The guide will use a spotlight to showcase
possums, frogs, owls and other nocturnal animals that call the forest home. The tour
concludes at approximately 9.30pm when travellers are returned to their
accommodation.

the many shows and demonstrations including crocodile feeding and snake handling.

The Sunshine Coast is home of the Crocodile Hunter's famous Australia Zoo. It is a
popular holiday playground for Australians and international visitors alike; loved for
its relaxed, outdoor lifestyle and friendly locals. This tour goes directly by coach to
and from Australia Zoo, made famous by the devotion of much-loved, now deceased
Crocodile Hunter, Steve and his wife Terri Irwin and children Bindi and Bob. A legacy
of wildlife documentaries has made Australia Zoo and Steve Irwin household names.
You will have the day to experience the best of Australia Zoo. This wildlife "theme
park" is too good to rush so you are allocated almost six hours to view the shows and
demonstrations including crocodile feeding and snake handling. The handlers even
walk some animals through the park, so you can get "up close and personal."
