through Walpa Gorge where the trail follows the natural creek bed between two of the

formation. The early rise is well worth it as you experience the two major landmarks in
Uluru–Kata Tjuta National Park. Start with an amazing sunrise at Talinguru Nyakunytaku,
the Uluru (Ayers Rock) sunrise viewing area. Afterwards, on the 45 kms drive to Kata
Tjuta (the Olgas) your Driver Guide will provide you with an historical overview of the

This incredible formation of rock domes extends six kilometres into the ground and is
the remains of erosion that began more than 500 million years ago. The walk to Valley
of the Winds takes you down into a timeless haven within the domes through trickling
creek beds. Join your dedicated guide on a drive around the base of Uluru. Continue to the Kuniya
Walk, from where you will be escorted to the Mutitjulu Waterhole. View ancient rock
art and learn about the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Learn the significance
of ancient Aboriginal rock art, about the area’s flora and fauna and culture of its
traditional owners, the Anangu. Visit the cultural centre then travel to the Uluru sunset

A great day for photos, including the amazing stand of termite mounds. Established
in 1986, Litchfield National Park is a stunning location. You can take in the splendour
of thundering waterfalls, rainforest pockets and historic sacred sites. It is a haven for
hundreds of native bird species and the plateau supports a rich range of woodland
flora.

Travel through the desert scenery of the Red Centre to Alice Springs as you enjoy
comprehensive commentary of your surroundings and pass through the rugged
outback. View majestic Atila (Mt. Conner) along the way. Stop at Erldunda Roadhouse
where there is the opportunity to purchase afternoon tea (own expense) and then
travel north along the Stuart Highway before arriving at Alice Springs. If you are
continuing on to Alice Springs this day, you will be dropped at Angus Downs for your
transfer by luxury coach to your hotel in Alice Springs. From Angus Downs the coach
stops at Erldunda, where you may purchase afternoon tea before arriving at your
hotel. Stop at the Telegraph Station, established in 1872 to relay messages between Darwin
and Adelaide and the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which provides a ‘mantle of safety’
to the people of the outback. Visit the School of the Air, an educational service for
children living in remote areas, and Alice Springs Reptile Centre. Visit these historical
sites that offer essential services delivered from Alice to the community of this vast
region. The traditional custodians of the land are the Arrernte people, who refer to
Alice as ‘Mpwante’. Visit Alice Springs Reptile Centre, home to the largest reptile
display in Central Australia, where you'll have lots of fun, particularly during the show
and if you are game, try the supervised handling session. Conclude with a panoramic
view of Alice Springs from Anzac Hill. Enjoy an Aboriginal cultural experience on the Tiwi Islands. Travel by Ferry and learn
about the Tiwi people’s unique and rich culture as they introduce you to their
traditional art displays and ceremonies. Travel past former WWII airstrips en route to Adelaide River. Stop briefly at the War
Cemetery and continue to Edith Falls for a swim in the waterhole beneath (conditions
permitting).
Enjoy discovering their interesting rituals as you experience a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to visit a modern-day Aboriginal community. Enjoy morning tea and
damper with Tiwi ladies, as they show you their weaving and painting techniques.
Experience totemic dances, smoking ceremonies and learn about traditional bush
tucker, medicine and natural fibres and dyes used by the Tiwi people. After lunch join a two-hour scenic cruise through Katherine Gorge to learn about the
area and take in the breathtaking enormity of the gorges. Explore the Nitmiluk Visitor
Centre before returning to Darwin.
