Extraordinary wildlife encounters, excellent local produce and warm hospitality make
this large South Australian island a destination without competition. With significant
conservation reserves and few introduced pests, biologists refer to Kangaroo
Island as “the closest to what temperate Australia was like at the time of European
settlement.” It is home to sea-lions, fur-seals, kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas,
platypus, goannas, 260 bird species (17 Kangaroo Island sub-species – many rare or
endangered), possums, bandicoots, dolphins and whales.
Family-owned Exceptional Kangaroo Island Tours offer small group and private tours,
promising good food, good wine and wildlife. Although day trips are available from
Adelaide, we recommend a two day/one night stay as a minimum. The interactive two
day/one night "Kangaroo Island In Style" includes flights from Adelaide, two full-day
tours (two to twelve guests with two guides for more than six guests), and an overnight
stay on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Touring is conversational rather than with
commentary and connects you to the best that the destination offers.
Small group tours in custom 4WD vehicles feature home-baked morning tea, alfresco
lunch with a choice of local wines, beer, soft drinks and spring water as well as access
to field guides, binoculars and maps, and all necessary National Parks fees.

This 2 day Kangaroo Island Experience with experienced local guides sharing ecology,
history and contemporary lifestyle explores island life, learning about wildlife tracks,
strangely shaped trees and even experiencing a private bush camp and enjoying a
delicious meal. Visit Seal Bay Conservation Park and tour among Australian sea-lions
on a beautiful sandy beach. You will also visit Flinders Chase National Park to explore
massive natural shapes of Remarkable Rocks and see the Admirals Arch – a coastal
grotto, home to long-nosed fur-seals.
Kangaroo Island with its stunning scenery and abundance of native animals is
recognized as one of the world's leading nature and wildlife destinations.

Our fully trained and accredited driver guides are true locals with most of them being
born on Kangaroo Island. They have a great passion for the “Island” and have a depth
of knowledge that is much more than can be learnt from a book. In some cases, their
families have been here for four to five generations making them part of the fabric
of the Island.
Booking a tour gives the best chance of wildlife sightings as it is difficult to catch sight
of them while concentrating on the road if you are self-driving! Therefore, this is also
the safest option!
