Unspoiled islands with deserted beaches and stunning
sunsets, proud with historical and cultural heritage and
many churches, markets and little local shops.
Tongatapu: the main island of Tonga is Tongatapu and home to the capital, Nuku'alofa.
The best way to explore Nuku'alofa is on foot – simply pick up a visitors map and your
journey of discovery will begin. Take a walk along the waterfront, discover the Royal
Palace, historical Royal Tombs, churches, markets and little shops all worth exploring.
One thing to remember is that Tonga is a deeply religious country so you won't find
much open on Sundays! Want to discover more of the island, we suggest a car rental
to enjoy leisurely exploration. Cultural and historical places of interest include Flying
Fox Sanctuary, Bird Park, Captain Cook's Monument and Mapu'a 'a Vaea Blowholes.
More packages and accommodation options are available on request.
The outer islands of Vava'u and Ha'apai offer you the opportunity to truly experience the
remoteness, beauty and culture of Tonga. Life operates at a slower pace so do not be
suprised if some things take a little time. Pack your sense of adventure and you will be
sure to enjoy all the experiences of these truly fascinating islands.
6 Day Discover Tongatapu
Tongatupu is the main island of the Kingdom of Tonga and the location of its
capital, Nuku'alofa. North of the island are many small isolated islands and cora
reefs which extend up to seven kilometres from Tongatapu's shores. The almost
completely closed Fanga'uta and Fanga Kakau Lagoons are on important
breeding ground for birds and fish and were declared a natural reserve in 1974
by the government.
Highlights (included):
• Relaxation on Ha'atafu and Kanok-
uplu beaches.
• Snorkel gear and hammocks during
your stay.
Day 1: Arrive at Heilala Holiday Lodge
Day 2-5: Heilala Holiday Lodge at leisure

Vava'u: Vava'u is the most popular and second largest island group with 50 islands
closely nestled together, offering a picturesque vista of lush green hills and clear blue
waters. Neiafu, the capital of Vava'u, is located on the edge of Port Refuge Harbour.
This quaint little town where time has almost stood still has little shops to discover,
great restaurants with harbour views, first-class fishing and sailing, not to forget
magnificent whale watching. The diving in Vava'u is also excellent, as the waters are
crystal clear, with visibility averaging 30 metres. Accommodation is of a good standard
with something to suit most budgets and tastes.
Heilala Holiday lodge: A moderate/basic property in the village of Kanokupolu
on the main island of Tongatapu. Located on the stunning sandy beaches of
Ha'atafu and Kanokupolu with the most picturesque sunsets, the best surfing
on the main island, great snorkeling and a beautiful sandy beach that stretches
over a kilometre long. From here you can spot Tongas' famous humpback whales
in season.
Package includes: 5 nights of hotel accommodation, arrival transfer with meet
and greet, daily island style breakfast, communal guest kitchen, internet access,

Ha'apai: the Ha'apai island group consists of 60 islands, most of which are low-laying
atolls. Ha'apai is definitely off the beaten track and a great place to escape all the
stresses of the 21st century! The region is extremely traditional and has not really
been touched by tourism, so this is a great place if you are looking for a quiet, cultural,
"back to basics" experience. As well as offering solitude, Ha'apai is a water lover's
paradise. Accommodation is limited, so sit back, relax and enjoy "island life".
Like other South Pacific nations, Tonga has been blessed with warm waters and
abundant marine life; it is a great place to learn to dive, try kayaking, or do some whale
watching.

Deposit/final payment policies:
A $500 deposit per person is required at time of booking to hold your customized South
Pacific land tour. Final payment is required at 60 days prior to departure. If a reservation
is made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at time of booking. Some
trips will require a larger deposit. Please note that air, rail and tour components have
different deposit and final payment deadlines, which are dictated by the suppliers. These
will be advised to you by your travel consultant at the time of booking. Airline regulations
require the full name, date of birth and gender for all passengers as it appears on the
passport. Travellers must provide a copy of each passenger's passport photo page. Please
note name changes are not allowed on tickets and mispelling the travellers names on the
ticket will result in loss of that air ticket. Airline reservations cannot be confirmed until
Anderson Vacations has received full pagment before the due date set by the airline.
Seperate airline and tour change fees are payable by the traveller depending on fare type
purchased. These airline and tour change fees will be payable by the traveller.
Changes to reservations:
If you wish to change your reservation after confirmation has been processed and deposit
applied, we will do our utmost to satisfy your request. A service charge of $100.00 per
change will be applied to cover extra administrative and communication costs. Upgrades
will be charged at the rate of the upgrade. Separate supplier change fees may apply
depending on the arrangements booked. Any supplier change fees will be passed on to
the client.
Cancellations, refunds and transfers:
Should you need to cancel your trip, you (or your authorized travel agent) must notify
us in writing by letter, e-mail, or by fax immediately. Deposits are non-refundable,
though if you cancel more than 60 days prior to tour departure date, the deposit paid
is transferable to any other tour taken within 12 months of the original tour start date,
minus a $100 per person transfer fee. Less than 60 days prior to departure, all monies
paid are 100% non-refundable, non-transferable. Name changes are not permitted.
Insurable risks may be covered under trip cancellation insurance policies, if purchased.
We are not able to grant partial refunds for any unused trip arrangements – voluntarily
missed meals, sightseeing, transport, etc – after the trip has commenced, or any refunds
to trip members who do not complete any portion of the itinerary for whatever reason.
All air tickets are non-refundable and valid only for the flight(s) indicated. We may cancel
departures if forced to do so by circumstances such as war, civil or political unrest or what
is commonly referred to as force majeure. In these instances we will refund all passengers
in full if cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to tour start date. If cancellation
occurs within the 60 day period, we will offer to postpone your trip to another similar
departure within 12 months of the original tour start date; or, if circumstances do
not permit, an alternative will be offered at that time. We will not be responsible for
costs associated with re-issuance or extension of visas, airline change fees, or for any
compensation. We strongly recommend that all travellers purchase trip cancellation
insurance, either through Anderson Vacations or elsewhere, as this may provide coverage
under such circumstances. If we cancel your tour due to insufficient enrolment, we will
endeavour to find an alternative tour for you. If this is not acceptable, all monies paid
will be refunded in full and will constitute full settlement. We will not be responsible
for any expenses incurred, such as visas, independently purchased airfare, or any other
compensation. Notice of cancellation due to insufficient enrolment in any program will be
given approximately 60 days prior to departure.

fees are required to offset booking, communication, and administrative charges which
have already been incurred by us, suppliers and your travel agent. Cancellation fees
imposed by suppliers and travel agents are beyond our control and you should check
with your travel agent regarding what cancellation fees may be applicable. Regrettably
cancellation charges cannot be waived. There will be no exceptions. No refunds on unused

all packages to avoid penalties.
