DAY 1 Fly to Perth
DAY 2 Perth On arrival make your way to your hotel .
DAY 3 Perth
This afternoon follow your Tour Director to Kings Park to see the Botanic Garden , the art installations and the Anzac Memorial . Join your fellow travellers for dinner .
DAY 4 Perth / Hyden
The tour gets properly underway as you travel to Wave Rock which definitely deserves its name as it resembles a huge surf wave about to crash into the bush . It ’ s a short walk from another imaginatively named rock formation : Hippo ’ s Yawn . Later , meet Sheena who will proudly show you around her farm and discuss life on the land .
DAY 5 Hyden / Kalgoorlie
Enjoy a Kalgoorlie town tour that includes vistas over the staggering ‘ Super Pit ’ open-cut gold mine . Continue to Hannans North Mine where the history is overwhelming .
DAY 6 Kalgoorlie / Esperance
First up is Cape Le Grand National Park , home to sweeping heathlands , rugged coastal peaks and white sandy beaches . Just when you thought Western Australia couldn ’ t get any prettier , you arrive at Thistle Cove and Lucky Bay , where kangaroos laze on the sand .
DAY 7 Esperance / Albany
Begin at the Fitzgerald River National Park , a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve , then the Stirling Range National Park , blanketed with more than 1,500 different species of wildflowers . Get an overview from the Bluff Knoll Lookout , topping one of WA ’ s highest peaks
DAY 8 Albany
At leisure . Alternatively , join an Albany tour that relives the town ’ s heritage , explore Torndirrup National Park or , get a taste for the region on a culinary tour ( all extra expense ).
DAY 9 Albany / Margaret River
Get a bird ’ s eye view of the soaring tingle trees that stand large through the Valley of the Giants as you stroll along the Tree Top Walk . More lofty attractions await at the Cape Leeuin Lighthouse , set at the tip of a peninsula where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet . Travel on to the Margaret River wine region .
DAY 10 Margaret River
A tasty day begins at Vasse Virgin to learn about all things olive oil . A leisurely lunch follows at a vineyard with plenty of time to sip and savour local drops .
DAY 11 Margaret River / Fremantle
Travel to Busselton , home to the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere . The afternoon is all yours in Freo , and we recommend spending time browsing the colourful stalls of the city ’ s markets .
DAY 12 Fremantle
At leisure to sightsee as you choose . Perhaps take a ferry across to Rottnest Island where you can capture a selfie with the island ’ s smiley quokkas ( extra expense ).
DAY 13 Fremantle / Geraldton
Yanchep National Park is staggeringly beautiful and incredibly spiritual , as you ’ ll discover on a hands-on Aboriginal cultural experience . Travel on to Nambung National Park where you ’ re greeted by an ethereal moonscape . Later , travel on to Geraldton .
DAY 14 Geraldton / Monkey Mia
Travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Shark Bay before arriving in Monkey Mia where the rest of the day is free . If lazing on the beach isn ’ t your thing , options include a cruise to spot sea creatures or a scenic flight over Shark Bay Marine Park ( both extra expense ).
DAY 15 Monkey Mia / Kalbarri
Rise early to see Monkey Mia ’ s wild dolphins which swim close to shore each morning . Travel on to Shell Beach and Hamelin Pool to see the world ’ s best-known colony of stronatolites . On arrival at Kalbarri National Park , you ’ ll take in the Murchison River Gorge from the Kalbarri Hawks Head Lookout .
DAY 16 Kalbarri / Perth
Enroute to Perth , pass colourful Hutt Lake , one of the state ’ s bubblegum pink lakes . Join your new friends for dinner .
DAY 17 Perth
Return to the airport where the tour concludes with your onward journey .
