DAY 1 Cairns / Green Island
Sail by catamaran from Cairns Wharf ( 45 minutes ) to Green Island , a unique coral cay home to a tropical rainforest and surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef . Recognised as a very special place , it has been protected with National Park status , plus , both Green Island and its reefs are included in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area , which gives it international protection under UNESCO . Be sure to try a few of the complimentary resort activities , such as snorkelling , a glass-bottom boat trip , island walks and nonmotorised watersports . After dusk , when daytrippers leave the island , soak up the island ’ s tranquillity with complimentary sunset drinks .
DAY 2 Green Island
For a complete Great Barrier Reef holiday experience a full day cruise is included from Green Island to the Outer Barrier Reef for three hours at the Outer Reef Activity Platform . This stable activity platform is the perfect base for swimmers and non-swimmers to explore , with the option to snorkel and dive , visit the underwater observatory and cruise in a semisubmersible or , you can just sit back and relax on the sundeck .
DAY 3 Green Island / Cairns
If time allows , enjoy additional activities or simply laze on the beach before you reluctantly head back to Cairns Wharf by catamaran .

Visits to the Research Station are also available , for an insight into the work that the resort does to protect and preserve the Great Barrier Reef . Another option is to grab a picnic hamper and some snorkel gear , then hop on a motorised dinghy ( full induction and instructions provided ) and set off to a private beach . If that ’ s too energetic , harmonise mind , body and soul at the Essentia Day Spa .
DAY 3 Lizard Island / Cairns
Perhaps enjoy an activity or two before your transfer to the airport for the return flight to Cairns .
