DAY 1 Fly to Melbourne
DAY 2 Melbourne
On arrival make your own way to your hotel and later , meet your fellow adventure-seekers .
DAY 3 Melbourne
Begin with a walking tour taking in the city ’ s most eyepopping murals hidden down numerous laneways . This afternoon you are free to explore independently or there is the option to join a nature-based sojourn to Phillip Island to see penguins as they waddle from the ocean to the sand ( extra expense ).
DAY 4 Melbourne
Continue exploring Melbourne at your leisure . Linger in town to browse the numerous boutiques and galleries or step out and explore the city ’ s eclectic suburbs . You might want to sign up to discover the Great Ocean Road ( extra expense ), a stretch of coastline that deserves its reputation as one of the world ’ s most scenic touring routes .
DAY 5 Melbourne / Uluru
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the Red Centre and Uluru , the world ’ s largest rock monolith . Spiritual , sacred and spectacular , it is sure to give you goosebumps . At sunset , head to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and watch the shifting colours transform the desert with every last ray .
DAY 6 Uluru
It ’ s definitely worth an early start , as you watch the sunrise over Uluru . Continue on to Kata Tjuta to see Walpa Gorge , which humbles with its soaring cliffs . Wander through the tallest domes before another sparkling sunset .
DAY 7 Uluru / Cairns
Another early start gives you the chance to view the art installation “ Field of Light ”, where 50,000 glowing spindles of light blanket the desert . Clamber to the top of a sand dune to marvel in the morning unfolding over this very special part of the world . An Anangu artist will introduce you to Western Desert art , before you return to the airport and fly onwards to Cairns .
DAY 8 Cairns
At leisure to explore as you choose or , alternatively , optional tours are available ( extra expense ). These include a hot-air balloon ride over the Atherton Tablelands , a

guided walk through the Daintree Rainforest or a ride aboard the Scenic Railway to Kuranda .
DAY 9 Cairns
A full day to head out and explore the Great Barrier Reef , which never fails to dazzle . This kaleidoscope of colour is home to over 1,500 species of fish , 215 different birds , 3,000 molluscs , marine turtles and 30 species of dolphins and whales . Strap on a snorkel or visit an underwater observatory and semi-submersible craft to take in the menagerie without getting your hair wet . Tonight , you can look forward to dinner on Cairns ’ waterfront .
DAY 10 Cairns / Sydney
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Sydney and on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel . Later , join your travelling companions for a dinner cruise around Sydney Harbour against the backdrop of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House .
DAY 11 Sydney
Begin with a behind the scenes look at Sydney Opera House before heading to another icon , Bondi Beach , which brims with beautiful people . A local life saver will take you into the members-only Bondi Surf Bathers ’ Life Saving Club where you gain an understanding of the important work done here on this famous beach . After lunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean you ’ ll return to the city where the remainder of your day is at leisure .
DAY 12 Sydney
A day to do as you choose . If you don ’ t wish to simply wander around the city , there ’ s an optional excursion available to the Blue Mountains ( extra expense ). This World Heritage listed wilderness is where sandstone escarpments appear to cleave off the edge of the earth and waterfall-cooled valleys of rainforest slip dreamily from the pages of a fairytale .
DAY 13 Sydney
A further day to explore the delights of Sydney . Those with a head for heights may wish to book a Sydney BridgeClimb for a birds eye view ( extra expense ). This evening , join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner .
DAY 14 Sydney
All too soon this epic journey reaches its end and you ’ re heading back to the airport for your onward journey .
