DAY 1 Paraparaumu / Kapiti Island
This morning , transfer by ferry to Rangatira on Kapiti Island , home to the most prolific population of Little Spotted Kiwi . The tour gets underway as you have the chance to climb Kapiti ’ s highest peak , or explore the lower tracks through established New Zealand forest . In the afternoon , transfer by ferry to the Lodge at Waiorua . After a delicious home cooked meal , head out after dark on a guided Kiwi spotting walk with an experienced and knowledgeable guide . Return to the lodge and your cosy tent , where you ’ ll drift off to sleep to the sound of calling Kiwi and Weka , Kaka and Ruru .
DAY 2 Kapiti Island / Paraparaumu
Enjoy a hot breakfast as you watch the sunrise over Waiorua Bay , on one of the oldest sanctuaries in the world . You ’ ll spend the day exploring Waiorua tracks , with a coastal or hill walk available . After a hot lunch at the lodge , it ’ s time to bid farewell to Kapiti Island with your return ferry back to the mainland where your tour concludes .

DAY 1 Tongariro National Park
Make your own way to Tongariro National Park and onwards to the Nightsky Cottage , where you can look forward to a totally relaxing stay within a unique 100 % New Zealand native bush environment . The experience begins from the moment you step out of your car and walk down the boardwalk towards the hidden gem that is the Nightsky Cottage . This luxurious oasis will leave you rejuvenated and reconnected with nature in a true zero-waste and sustainable environment .
DAY 2 Tongariro National Park
Enjoy an alfresco breakfast and soak up the surrounding scenery and wonderfully fresh air . You may wish to stay at the cottage simply relaxing although , it is just a short walk to a bush clearing where you can take in the views of Mt Ruapehu . There are also a variety of walking trails within close proximity so you can get out and make the most of the great outdoors and see some of the spectacular landscapes within this incredible national park area . Thrill seekers can opt to take a jetboat ride , go quadbiking or perhaps book a scenic flight ( all extra expense ). This evening , star gaze through the skylights in the comfort of your lounge whilst warmed by the log-fire or , find a quiet spot in the bush to listen to the kiwi calling or abundant bird song .
DAY 3 Tongariro National Park
Within no time at all , it ’ s time to be on your way as your stay in this inspiring destination comes to an end . Alternatively , why not extend your stay ?

Meals : Dinner with selected drinks on day 1 ; breakfast and lunch on day 2 . You may want to bring a packed lunch with you for day 1 or with advance notice , a packed lunch can be provided ( extra cost ).
Tour price : The price shown includes return ferry to Kapiti Island , ferry between Rangatira and the Lodge at Waiorua , unique overnight accommodation , guided walks and Department of Conservation permits .
