After an Auckland city tour travel to the Kauri Museum in Matakohe . Continue via Whangerei to Paihia , in the heart of the scenic Bay of Islands , for a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds .
DAY 5 Bay of Islands
At leisure to enjoy some of the optional activities available , such as a Cape Reinga coach trip via Ninety Mile Beach or a spectacular scenic flight ( extra expense ).
DAY 6 Bay of Islands / Auckland
This morning cruise aboard a luxury catamaran to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock . Return to Paihia and travel south into the Parry Kauri Park to see a superb example of a Kauri Tree before returning to Auckland .
DAY 7 Auckland / Rotorua
Travel to Glenbrook Vintage Railway for a nostalgic trip on a restored vintage steam train . Return to Glenbrook Station and travel by coach through magnificent countryside to Rotorua which is renowned for its geothermal activity and Māori culture .
DAY 8 Rotorua
Begin with a gondola ride and breakfast at Skyline Rotorua . Next is the Agrodome for farming entertainment and education unlike anything you ’ ve seen before . This evening , travel to Te Puia to see the boiling mud pools and awesome geysers before a Māori Hāngi and concert .
DAY 9 Rotorua / Wellington
Drive along the Thermal Explorer Highway to spectacular Huka Falls . Continue to scenic Lake Taupo and then drive via Tongariro National Park to the capital , Wellington .
DAY 10 Wellington
Visit Te Papa , New Zealand ’ s National Museum before reboarding your coach for an extensive Wellington city tour . Afternoon and evening at leisure .
DAY 11 Wellington / Christchurch
Board the Interislander Ferry and cross Cook Strait to Picton . Join the Coastal Pacific for an amazing rail journey to Kaikoura where you then drive on to Christchurch .

Travel to Arrowtown and visit the Lakes District Museum . Continue via Te Anau , to Milford Sound and board the Milford Mariner for an overnight cruise . View the fiord ’ s spectacular waterfalls , rainforest , mountains and wildlife .
DAY 17 Milford Sound / Te Anau
Head back out to the Tasman Sea ( weather permitting ) to see more of the fiord . Disembark for a scenic drive to Te Anau . You may like to visit the Glowworm Caves ( optional and extra expense ).
DAY 18 Te Anau / Dunedin
Travel via Gore and Balclutha to Dunedin , famed for its stunning Edwardian and Victorian architecture . This afternoon , visit Speight ’ s Brewery for an interactive tour .

Travel along the Otago Peninsula to Larnach Castle for a tour , garden walk and Devonshire Tea . Return to the city for a tour and free time or , join a tour to see wildlife in their natural habitat ( extra expense ).
