Volume 1, Issue 1 Page 34 personals+ The four bacteria that were purchased from the clinical laboratory were confirmed as Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, E-coli & Klebsiella in the first part of the practical and the confirmed bacteria were used in the further steps of the practical+ In the second part of the practical the diameters of the bacterial inhibitory growth areas of each of the bacteria for each of the six antibiotics were compared with the relevant reference ranges to check for the sensitivity+ The chart 1+1 shows how the sensitivity of the gram positive bacteria drops through the generations of the Penicillin antibiotic family and how the sensitivity of the gram negative bacteria increases through the generations of the Penicillin antibiotic family+ Chart 1.2 – Diameter of bacteria growth inhibitory zones of each antibiotic used of Penicillin antibiotic family According to the chart 1+2 the best performing two Penicillin antibiotics that can be used to treat any of the four bacterial infections are Piperacillin/tazobactum and amoxicillin+ When consider the diameters obtained by both the antibiotics, Piperacillin/tazobactum is the most powerful antibiotic among both of them and the second most powerful antibiotic in the family is amoxicillin+
