Hawks. On my journeys, I stopped by a local watering hole called Chelios', owned and operated by cousins of legendary Chris Chelios. While watching the game, I was surrounded by a sea of Hawks fans, ranging in age from young to old and all sharing their passion for the Hawks. Several in attendance were longtime Hawks fans who reminded me of the days of Bobby Hull and Stan Mitka. Through the evening as the Hawks and the Bruins were battling to 3 overtimes, the fans at Chelio’s stayed until the end to cheer the Hawks on.

The Hawks were victiorious, and the place went wild, ringing the bell and cheering on their home team. There is no doubt that there is a following here in the Chicagoland and that Illinois' second city cheers on the Hometown Hawks.

All-Star games are June 29 at Garfield Park

Every season Boys Baseball of Aurora hosts an All Star weekend to bring together players from throughout the league and recognize them for their ability and character. Each team in the league votes for a number of participants (4 in the Major League and 3 in the Minor League) to join up with others from their Division to play in a fun but competitive game against a rival Division. The players selected have to be in the final year of their participation at that level (12 years old in the Major League and 10 years old in the Minor League) and should demonstrate not only great baseball fundamentals, but also their desire, attitude, sportsmanship and attendance. Managers from each year's team are the previous year's division winner. A listing of the divisional match-ups by league will be determined. For details, check back at www.boysbaseballofaurora.com.
