Crystals Throughout the Calendar Year
There is an ancient belief that a particular stone is dedicated to each month of the year.
This belief could possibly be related to the twelve stones on the breastplate of the
historical high priests.
The Chaldeans who lived in Mesopotamia around 4000 BC discovered a relationship
between the planets and specific gemstones:
Saturn was associated with Sapphire
Jupiter with Gold Calcite
Sun with Diamond
Mars with Ruby
Venus with Emerald
Mercury with Agate
Moon with Selenite
The wearing of stones connected to birth dates became popular in the eighteenth century. Previous to that they were used more for therapeutic reasons and remain so to this day.
Wearing the stone of the Sign under which one was born was also meant to draw down and magnify the vibratory influence of that particular planet.
In the sixteenth century it was fashionable to wear an Emerald in the Spring a Ruby for Summer a Sapphire in the Autumn and a Diamond in the Winter.
The Emerald is associated with Venus the Goddess of Love. It’s Green colour symbolizes love sensitivity and growth.
The Ruby is known as the king of the jewels stimulating expression and creativity.
Autumn and Winter can be a sad time for many people and the Sapphire is a crystal that brings clarity and insight,
protects against depression and helps us move on following our soul’s journey.
The Diamond also is a great stone for the Winter months. It is cold hard and brilliant like the ice and frost on a Winter’s day. It can sharpen the intellect and help you produce creative projects whilst the Spring takes it’s time to arrive.
There was a custom in the past to wear certain precious and semi precious crystals and jewels for different times of
the day. I know this process works so it’s certainly worth trying the crystal energies your selves.
Sapphire
Stones recommended for the night were Turquoise, Jade, Jasper, Tourmaline, Malachite and Lapis Lazuli.
Stones for the night are usually opaque and they help anchor the body, slowing it down while you
sleep.
Stones for the day were Garnet, Emerald, Diamond, Topaz, Amethyst, Ruby or Kunzite. They sparkle
with different coloured light to inspire and stimulate our intellect.
Good luck with making friends with your crystals they are always here to support our lives.. Chose
them with your soul energy and that intuition will never let you down.
Take care all
