CWA
By LYNDA HUBER
The CWA Fashion Show is a must-attend event
Mark your calendars for the third Monday in September for our CWA Fashion Show , which was delayed a week due to the Pink Ball Tournament .
Our co-chairs , Robin Gowdy and Kathy Fisher , are busy planning this special event to be held Monday
HUBER Sept . 18 . Doors open at 11 a . m . in the
Charbonneau Clubhouse .
Seated lunch will be catered by It ’ s Party Time . Chico ’ s fashion will be modeled by our members , Mary Tillery , Carol McHugh , Claudia de Vries , Leesa Gango , Janie Olson and Debbie Stonebraker .
Be sure to sign up early as this event usually sells out . The cost for members is $ 40 and $ 45 for non-members . The deadline to RSVP is noon Thursday , Sept . 7 .
The sign-up book to RSVP and the 2023-24 membership applications are in our book on the Activity Center coat room counter . You can put your checks in an envelope marked CWA in the CCC slot in the entry door of the Activity Center or give it to Claudia at the front desk . Membership applications are also available on our website at CWACharboneau . com .
Our program chairs Judi Hickman and Mary Elting are making plans for our meetings October 2023-May 2024 . All of these luncheon / meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month so mark your calendars .
We enjoy working together to make our luncheon meetings enjoyable for all . The more helping hands , the merrier . Additional volunteers are always welcome and it is a great way to meet new friends . Please consider this and make note on your membership application .
This month I would like to feature one of our new board members . Carol Riley will be co-chair of decorations . She moved to Charbonneau from Virginia in November 2021 and lived in a rental before purchasing a home in May 2022 . Her son , daughter-in-law and two grandkids moved from Washington , D . C . 11 years ago and they always knew they would join them in the northwest .
Carol was a teacher , principal and central office administrator for 30-plus years and then worked for the National Association of Elementary School Principals . She developed and ran a national mentoring program for school leaders and is currently involved in a wide range of mentoring programs as a board member for the International Mentoring Association . These are just some of the reasons she is a fabulous leader .
Carol likes to read , hike and explore new places , people and ideas . She especially enjoys the environment , the hospitality and the love of animals that is seen in this part of the country .
By the time this article is read , we will already have had our summer happy hour . I hope you joined us for an evening of relaxation and time to get acquainted . If not , I will tell you all about that in the next issue along with some photos .

FIEWEGER Banquet and Performance in September . Suspense !
Bonnie Bohm held an informative Rules Clinic for our membership . It was very well-attended with timely information about rules , old and new . She reminded us that a ‘ whiff ’ counts as a stroke . There goes the ‘ practice swing ! After the rules seminar , we went to the chipping green to get a lesson from Chris Bensel and teaching professional , Kaitlyn Howe . We all started out chipping 20 feet past the hole or two feet in front of us . There were some giggles . We even saw smiles on Chris and Kaitlyn ’ s faces ! Much improvement was made by the end of the clinic . Find who can make a chip in now after the clinic . See photos of our group . To read about the rules we discussed , visit the Niners website : www . ladiesninersgolf . com and click on Niner Golf Rules .
The Pink Ball Golf Tournament Committee has been hard at work for the 18th annual Pink Ball Golf Event Sept . 12 . Look at us on the front page ! The registration book is in the Pro Shop . Sign up fast as every

Real Estate today with Lynda Huber
History has shown that higher rates may take the steam out of rising prices , but it doesn ’ t cause them to collapse entirely . This is especially true in today ’ s housing market , where the demand for homes continues to outpace supply , keeping the pressure on house prices , which have continued to show stronger growth than what was previously expected .
If you delayed your moving plans because you were concerned about home prices dropping , let ’ s connect so you know what ’ s happening with home prices in our area .
