LETTER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Hello , my name is Wes Parker and I am your new Golf Course Superintendent . I want to first thank management and the membership for allowing me the opportunity to bring Eaglebrooke to the next level of golf excellence . Jaun Perez has done a fantastic job of getting the playing surfaces back in line and respectable . My goal is to build on that to improve everyone ’ s golf experience .
I began my career in the golf business at Eaglebrooke ( 1997-2001 ) where I was inspired to continue my education and experience in the golf industry . I graduated from Lake City CC in 2003 with a degree in Golf Operations . I then worked at golf courses in Atlanta , GA and then to Tampa , FL training to be a Superintendent . My golf career took a slight left turn leading me to the landscape industry for 12 years as a property account manager in the central Florida area . I was responsible for high profile accounts such as the Hard Rock casino and Publix properties . I returned to the golf industry 4 years ago working as the Assistant Superintendent at Big Cypress golf club in north Lakeland . I am so very happy and proud to be able to come back home to Eaglebrooke to manage and make a difference in the golf course .
My 2 goals for the golf course in my first few months are improving playing surfaces ( ball roll , speed , and smoothness ) and details , details , DETAILS ! This will include tree and plant beds , bunkers , the practice facility and overall curb appeal from the eye of the player .
Thanks again for the opportunity and please feel free to stop me on the course and introduce yourself . I am looking forward to meeting all the members and staff at the club .
Wes Parker
