On The Pegs 166
ZACH OSBORNE
I decided to come ride because of
the uncertainty around the rest of my
racing. It was a good opportunity for
me to come and try my hand again.
I’m obviously a little more rusty than
I thought or would have liked to have
been. I wasn’t that good. I didn’t get
the start and the dust was just insane.
If you weren’t in the front, it was just
really, really bad. For me, it was pretty
dismal from the get-go just because
I never really found the pace at all. It
was just kind of a Sunday trail ride.
On the start, I guess I gassed it too
soon and gagged it out. It’s one of
those deals. It’s inexperience probably
on my part, a lot of inexperience, and
just excited.
This start is a lot different from what
I’m used to. I practiced a bunch of
starts yesterday and rode in the woods
on Thursday. It wasn’t really enough.
It is what it is. I’m happy with being
healthy and having gotten the experience.
We’ll come again, I’m sure.
