Message from the
executive director
Dear friends and neighbors,
August is upon us, bringing with it
new challenges in planning our usual
school, fall sports and recreational
activities. With a second-grader at
home, I understand what many in our
community are also facing. How do
we keep our children safe? How do we
keep them engaged and make sure
they have the best social development
possible right now? How many hours
will we need to dedicate as an at-home
teacher? All of these questions impact
me not only as a parent, but also as
your park district executive director and
we continue to develop programming,
services that provides answers to these
questions.
Our park district team understands
how important programming is for
our community right now. Whether
you have school-age children, are an
empty-nester, or need something to
enrich your own life, our programs
offer an outlet from what is going on
in the world. Our team is dedicated to
finding and creating safe ways for you
to exercise, learn new skills and connect
with others. This month, we continue
to offer virtual program options for
you to join in from home, and we have
expanded our in-person programming
for small groups. We have been cautious
and careful in our planning, to ensure
we are following all safety guidance.
Our team is currently working on
developing a new program, which was
not ready in time for this brochure, but
we will be releasing in a few days via
email. The program will be for school
children, enabling them to complete
their individualized e-learning and
have enhanced recreational and play
activities.
If you aren’t looking for this kind of
option, we also have plenty of arts,
athletics and recreation programs
available throughout this brochure.
Our full day and half day preschool will
be starting in September with limited
spots available – make sure to email
our preschool director for enrollment
information before it’s too late.
