Y ou wouldn ’ t believe it if we told you : Tucked back off the beaten path , you ’ ll find an event venue and a farm – all in one location . But Walhill Farm in Batesville is , unbelievably , all these things .
Walhill Farm is both a working farm and an event center , with regularly scheduled private dinners thrown in for good measure . There ’ s a little something for everyone at “ The Farm .”
Walhill Farm has two unique indoor spaces : THE SULKY LODGE
This quaint , Bavarian-style lodge is 11,000-square-feet and can comfortably fit up to 100 people . It features a hall , a dining area , a billiards room and a bar . The Sulky Lodge is best suited for business meetings , family reunions and smaller weddings . Most months , Walhill Farm hosts a private , reservations-only dinner with a unique menu at each dinner .

THE BARN
If rustic-chic is more your style , The Barn was converted from a horse barn into an event space and still retains all the charm and character of its original purpose . It ’ s also about 12,000-square-feet , and can host up to 600 people . The Barn is very popular for weddings , fundraisers and corporate events .
With 250 acres filled with flowers , gardens , pastures and ponds , it ’ s no surprise that so many couples get married on the grounds . “ We have a lot of really beautiful , creative spaces around our pond ,” says owner Peter Hillenbrand . “ A lot of people will get married [ outside ] and then have their reception in The Barn afterward .”
And as a working farm , Walhill Farm also offers catering with food grown and raised on the property using sustainable

and humane practices . Walhill Farm often caters corporate events , and they can also cater for private gatherings . There is even a retail shop where you can buy their homegrown products such as sausages , smoked chickens , eggs , and bacon .
“ It ’ s a very natural , smaller , more personal experience ,” says Peter . “ Because we ’ re out in the country , we ’ re able to offer a product and a service that ’ s truly unique .”
