Alton A. Covell
ALTON A. COVELL
LANCASTER–Alton A. Covell, 68, of Lancaster, passed away
at his home Wednesday morning,
Aug. 3, 2016 after a long illness
with his wife by his side.
Alton was born in West Stewartstown on Jan. 16, 1948, the
son of Almon Cross Covell and
Helen Hazel (Hartlen) Covell. He
grew up in his beloved Jefferson.
He married his wife Linda
(Madore) Covell in 1973 and this
past June they had celebrated
their 43rd wedding anniversary.
Throughout his life Alton had
worked as a carpenter and was
a “jack of all trades.” He enjoyed
spending time with friends playing cards and reminiscing about
“the good old days.”
His biggest enjoyments in life
were his three children, nine
grandchildren, and two great
grandchildren whom he cherished.
He is survived by his loving
wife Linda (Madore) Covell of 43
years; his daughter Candace
Covell Baker and her husband
Craig Baker of Lancaster; his son
Brent Covell and his wife
Shauna Earnshaw of Lunenburg,
Vt.; his d aughter Constance Covell and her fiancé Michael Pelletier
of
Allenstown;
nine
grandchildren, Cody Hall of St.
Johnsbury, Vt., Tegan Fisher,
Brady Baker, Brockton Baker,
and Ayriana Young-Baker all of
Lancaster, Noah and Reid Covell
of Lunenburg Vt., and Samuel
and Abigail Pelletier of Allenstown; two great-grandchildren,
Cambria Hall of Lancaster, and
Mykiah Fisher of Lancaster; two
sisters, Shirley (Covell) Wright
of Lancaster, Cynthia (Covell)
Swain of Hawaii; and numerous
nieces and nephews whom he all
loved dearly. He was predeceased by a sister Sharon (Covell) Borofsky, and two infant
siblings, James Covell and Candace Cassie Covell.
A memorial service was held
Saturday, Aug. 6, at 12 p.m. at
the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster.

LANCASTER–Leonard
B.
Perkins Sr., 79, of Page Hill
Road, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2016
at Weeks Medical Center, after
a period of failing health.
Perkins was born in Jefferson
on April 13, 1937, the son of
William Dana and Nellie (Sheri-
dan) Perkins.
On March 10, 1956, he married Rosemary Pritchard in Hartford, Conn. They resided in
Connecticut for many years
where they raised their family
and Leonard worked as a tree
surgeon for the Parks and Recreation Department in Glastonbury, Conn. In 1997 the returned
to the North Country residing for
a time in Lunenburg and later
Lancaster.
Leonard enjoyed being outdoors working on his lawns or in
the garden. He also enjoyed
spending time with his friends at
the VFW in Lancaster.
Surviving family members
include his five children Leonard
B. Perkins Jr. and Karl D. Perkins both of Lancaster, Pamela J.
Lurvey of Jefferson, Marie R.
Perkins of Bethlehem, Sue
Edwards of Englewood, Fla.; nine
grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; three brothers,
William D. Perkins Jr. of Vermont, Wayne Perkins of Delaware, Roderick Perkins of N.Y.
and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by Rosemary
in 1999; two daughters, Leonardina J. Medina in 1998, Cynthia
A. Perkins in 2014; and a brother,
Armand Perkins.
A graveside service will be
held Friday afternoon, Aug. 12,
at 2 p.m. in Riverton Cemetery,
Jefferson. Reverend Dean A.
Stiles, pastor of the Jefferson
Christian Church, will officiate.

Lois C. Adair
LOIS C. ADAIR
CONCORD, Calif.–Lois C.
Adair, 71, of Concord, Calif. died
on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Walnut Creek, Calif. after a long
battle with cancer.
Lois was born in Columbia on
Feb. 14, 1945 the daughter of
Ellery and Juanita (Corliss)
Adair. She graduated from
Stratford High School in 1963.
She began her career in the
1960s working as a Linotyper for
Fred Harrigan at the News and
Sentinel in Colebrook. Later, she
moved to Mass. and worked in a
book publishing company. In
Sept., 1970 Lois enlisted into the
Navy and was stationed in San
Diego, Calif. until her discharge
in March, 1979. She moved to
Lancaster, Calif. and then later
settled in Concord, Calif. She
worked for AT&T in San
Leandro, Calif.; AH&L in Walnut Creek, Calif.; Chevron in
Concord, Calif.; Robert Hawley
Insurance in Pleasant Hill,
Calif. and retired from Hannah
Global in Concord, Calif.
She leaves behind her brothers William and Edwina Adair
of Columbia, Kenneth and Charlene Adair of Groveton, sisters
Dorothy Jameson of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; Myra McCormick of
Stratford, plus numerous nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Alice Fletcher,
Eva Cloutier, Irene Adair, Marion Stanton.
As per her wishes, there will
be no services. Donations may
be made to the American Cancer
Society.

honors for Curtis Klebe, 93, who
passed away on June 23, will be
