Virtues of Saint Mary
Saint Mary had many virtues. one of these virtues
was her silence throughout her life.
for instance, When the shepherd came she did
not say much she was keeping everything in her
heart. At the cross, she was weeping but did not
talk. in fact, Saint Mary picked her words very
carefully to benefit those who heard her.
She did not talk idol words as we many times
do. We wish many times that we did not say
phrases or sentences that we regret afterward.
we do not need to practice the life of complete
silence but rather we need to guard the moth
and control the tongue. The right thief on the
cross asked our Lord to remember him when He
would come into His kingdom and the publican
used very wisely few words and went home
justified by God. when we enter the church let
each focus on himself and his repentance giving
glory to God and not stealing the glory of God to
whom glory is due. the tongue has the capacity
of setting things on fire, so, let us not adding fuel
to the fire.
It was said that one of the monk was gossiping
and went to his spiritual father who asked him to
go the the market and buy a bird and on his way
back he was instructed to take the feathers out
of the bird and the Monck did then the spiritual
father asked him to go back and collect the
removed feathers but the Monck explained that
it would be impossible. The spiritual father then
taught the monk that the same with the tongue
once the words came out we couldn't grab them
back we come to the church to praise and glorify
we walk out with a complete different language
also I may praise the priest of the church and
when i leave the church i criticize him harshly
and maybe in front of my spouse and/or children.
There are several ways to help us obtaining the
venture of silence.
Each of us need to examine himself daily. let’s fill
the heart and fill with the word of God and make
it the center of our life. we can share the gospel
with one another.
It was told that a nephew asked his aunt whether
she was Christine and when she wondered why
her nephew told her that he never heard her
speaking about the Lord Jesus. We need to
listen more than we speak. We need to be careful
about the words that come out of the mouth and
to think many times and just utter words that are
edifying to the listeners.
We praise instead of cursing we encourage
others and lift them up We need to watch the
time of speaking and pick the right time and
train ourselves when you enter the church not
to use the electronic devises. Church is a place
and time to pray to God asking His forgiveness
of our many sins. May the Lord help us the live
a life that glorifies his holy Name through the
intercession of Saint Mary! Amen
