To register to vote you need your bar-coded ID book. You will be asked to fill in a form with your name and address. Your ID book will be scanned by a ‘zip-zip’ machine, and your name will automatically be entered into the voters’ roll for the voting district. When and where can I register? ■ You can register now at your municipal office. ■ In some areas, where voting stations have changed and in areas of very low registration, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will visit people’s houses to register them. ■ There will also be a public registration weekend on 5-6 February 2011 and again on 5-6 March 2011 when all voting stations will be open for voter registration. Get an ID. Register now to vote. Make it happen.
