play with different acts all over the city and leave events feeling moved. However, we both draw inspiration from larger groups as well such as Whitney, Tegan and Sara, and The War on Drugs. Katie grew up loving indie rock tunes that featured intense guitar licks and harmonizing melodies. While Kathleen also loves the indie rock genre, she was raised on classic rock.

What is your favorite song you released and why?

We both love Remedy because it gets the people going. Plus, it was the first song we collaborated on so it’s near and dear to our hearts.

Do you travel or are you Midwest-based?

We travel as much as we can! We mainly play in the city limits however we have made trips out to Indiana and Wisconsin, as well. We are currently in the market for a new band vehicle. We had complications this summer and almost died on a highway, BUT with blessings from above, we made it home safely. We would love to travel to Michigan and Tennessee in the near future!

What has been your favorite memory you’ve had as a band so far?

Katie: There have been so many magical memories with Kathleen along this journey but one trumps all. One day, Kathleen and I were with a couple of friends in Humboldt Park shooting for a music video. There was a lot of random, fun energy on that brisk, Chicago afternoon. Once we scoped out the area, we decided to start shooting on the east side of the lake. We all rounded the corner and stumbled upon two broken chairs right by the water, as if they had been waiting for us. There was a short silence amongst us followed by explosive excitement and reassurance. In this moment, I felt that Kathleen and I were doing exactly what we are meant to be doing. Something as little as finding two broken chairs can make my day. I’ll tell you what.

Kathleen: I would have to say that my favorite memory goes back to the night where I truly felt like we had become something real. When we first started as a band, we had about 5 songs that we called our own. We spent the entire summer of 2016 recording those songs along with a 6th song that was written while we were already in the recording process. We were in the basement of this used musical instrument store in Wicker Park. A room had been converted into a recording studio and had a vocal booth next door. It was the hottest summer I can remember and there was no air conditioning in that basement. All summer. It was such a long, exhausting process, but in the end we had an album release event at that same store. It wasn’t until we were sitting in this old, basement surrounded by our sweaty friends that I felt like we had really accomplished something. We had created something worth listening to, worth sharing. We were a band.

Do you have any new music coming out soon?

YES! We hope to release a single before 2018. Hint- It is not the happiest of songs, but it is deep. The song showcases our signature harmonies and warm tone.

Any other information you want to include in this feature?

We are very excited to be included in the magazine.
