Can you give an overview of Vinyl For A Cause?
Vinyl For A Cause is a record label built around passion for music and intent on bettering the community we live in. Every limited edition record we release will feature two bands covering each other, on sides A and B of a 7-inch vinyl record. We've partnered with VH1 Save The Music Foundation for our promotional run of three releases, and half of our proceeds will go to support music education programs across the US. Following the promotional launch, we plan to keep working with bands that want to shed light on important social and political causes.
How many projects have you released so far?
We are in the process of recording our first six bands at Treehouse Records in Chicago. From there, we will be launching an Indiegogo campaign in mid-May to help fund the first three rounds of pressings in San Francisco at Pirates Press. We are getting going quickly, and can’t wait to continue the momentum these next few months!
What are some charities donated to through record sales?
The first one we have partnered with is VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Their mission to rebuild musical education and raise awareness about the importance of music in a child’s life really resonated with us, and we will be donating half of the proceeds from our first three
