lucky this past month, there are a handful that have been the opposite.

Violence is an extremely unpopular and touchy subject, but that fact rapper Skate Maloley was beaten by security during his own show in New York is extremely intolerable. I came across a video of it while scrolling through Twitter, and was appalled. The story goes that he was trying to protect his own fans from getting crushed and hurt by security in the audience, but then the security turned on him and started beating him on stage. The video shows the guards kicking him on the ground. Disturbing.

He cancelled shows due to the worries of security for his fans and personal recovery. He is going back on tour soon. “Never stressing, because I love my job.” -Skate

On another hand, it is amazing to see other female artists come together to support a really sticky situation. Kesha. For those that don’t know, Kesha publically claimed that she was sexually and mentally abused by the producer she has worked with at Sony for most of her career, Dr. Luke. When taken to court, it was recently decided that he is not going to be charged, and her record label is not going to allow her to break her deal. So, long story short, she has to keep working with him. This is the incredibly messed up injustice of the system. All the respect and support is sent to her.

I want to make a moment to leave a message to never be afraid to stand up for what you truly believe in. There are a lot of sticky situations in the world, and many people will have different opinions, but never forget to follow that spark inside you over injustice in the world. WE can all make a difference. Now.
