played before at the festival, was really crazy to play before him after originally being a huge fan.

Things are always changing within time, do you prefer the old school stuff or the new school stuff?

Definitely I have ’thing’ for old school, Detroit and Chicago type records, I feel there is a lot of depth to it. However, bluntly speaking I like emotional music, and I can just as likely find this in new school track as much as older one.

Generally all DJs would prefer to play a peak time set to a busy room but in terms of having a range of music to play would you prefer to play a longer opening or a longer closing set?

Would the long opening set include some peak time in it? As it does make some difference.

Lets say a 3hr opening set or a 3 hr closing set

Probably the closing set as I simply love ending the night and think it is one of my strengths as an artist. I did the close last night at Fire. I love to continue the vibe from the previous DJ and then gradually begin to play more emotionally. The musical phrase would be that I like to finish with a ‘diminuendo'. That is probably my favourite time to play, the last hour, when everyone is slowly coming back to reality and I can play some of the records closest to me, that I feel are too precious to play most of the time.

Vinyl is making a big comeback, so Vinyl or CDJs?

I originally learnt on vinyl but I have become accustomed to using CDJs as I have been using them for 7 years now. I use so many of the functions of Rekordbox (USB mixing software) that it would feel like a step back to go back to mixing records.

I feel that whatever medium a person uses it is all good. I have no hang ups with platform choice, I don’t mind if somebody plays off a laptop, I know often people speak badly of laptop DJ’s using the sync function and not learning the fundamentals of DJing but I’m not really bothered as long as the music is right, that is all I care about. I don’t really see what impact it has on me if someone mixes using sync, I just like music at the end of the day.

BOW, how was your set for you?
