Hi Joe, where is La Boutique Studio situated in London and how long have you been the in-house engineer there?
La Boutique is in Tottenham Hale. It’s a buzzing and vibrant area and the studio is absolutely gorgeous. Inside it’s like a home from home, rather than the clinical style some studios go for. I’ve been working with the guys there for several years, and in February this year, Matteo Cifelli (the owner with the ears of a god!) asked me to come on board as one of the in–house mix–engineers. Obviously I leapt at the chance.
Have any well know bands and artists come through the doors to record there in the past?
At La Boutique, we like to encourage new talent as well as big names so we’ve worked with fresh faces like Alice Ella, Brey Baptista, Elsie and John Parry, as well as established names including Tom Jones, Matt Goss, Joss Stone, Robert Plant, Il Divo,and many others. For me, La Boutique is far less intimidating than any other studio I’ve been in, due to the atmosphere and attitude here.
