Rhea Dean, a young singer/songwriter from south London, has been pleasing fans on the live music scene in and around London continuously over the past 2 years. She has blessed us with some amazingly timeless music via both her Soundcloud page and Vevo/Youtube channel.
Released 24th July, her single, ‘Secret lies’ is set to fast track her into Soul music lovers playlists throughout the final quarter. This R&B track is laced with an amazingly touching melody with a future bounce added to the mix by way of moving synths and beat that just begs to be blasted at maximum volume. The song itself, which is a seriously touching song speaking of the pain of a lost love, is executed in the most soulful way.
Continuing with live shows in-between releases, Rhea Dean took to Bristol with her incredible voice to serenade the crowd at I Luv Live. This was a few weeks ahead of the release of yet another remarkable track 'Reflections' released August 28th and is also the title track from her forthcoming EP which is set for release later this year.
We caught up with Rhea Dean to find out more about how things are going and what to expect from her EP.
Hey Hun, hope you’re well, thanks so much for joining us … We’ve seen you’ve been really busy recording the EP which we can’t wait to here. You recently released two amazing songs that we absolutely love. Could you tell us a little more about how these tracks came about?
Thank you. Well both tracks are produced by StarClef and 'Reflections' was co-written with Emmanuel Orelaja. Both have come from past experiences and this is how I always write. I wouldn't ever write something that doesn't come from my heart as I wouldn't be able to convey honest emotions in them, whether I'm singing them on the recording or in live performance.
My first single 'Secret Lies' is about a past relationship. The guy I was seeing had stopped trying and was so closed up with what was going on with him. This song is about trying to get him to wake up and make an effort in trying to get our s*** back together. The 'secret' is the answer that lies inside of him to saving the relationship.
