Letter from the Editor

Hello, Bonjour, Ola, Ciao! I hope you're well and wherever you are in the world, welcome to our crazy creative world.

Well, what can I say? You will see throughout this edition, we have expanded our minds, thought outside the box and re-defined our brand. As always we love music and this is the centre of all features, however, the way in which we interpret this passion has wide variations.

In this issue we have a lot of exciting content. Rokuro kicks back with a selection of sneakers great for heading out to the summer festivals. In addition, he finds out the goings on at one of London’s top diverse recording studios. Cessle gets chatting with producer Barber in this month's Hot 6. Malachi clues us up on the latest Abode events. Sarah has a special remembrance editorial respectfully discussing B.B. King's life and music. She also got stuck in to her very first interview with a great NY based band. I have created a musically inspired board of outdoor pieces. We also introduce our new Contributing Editor David, he has a lovely story revolving around a song by Pink. And I am also pleased to announce Andy's promotion in the team to Staff Writer. We also have loads of great music, features and our global festival guide for the summer. Speaking of sunshine, we’re introducing some new developments from Mauritius including a great female DJ and an exciting dance label.

I'm noticing a lot of reworks around right now, one of my favourite's which has influence from Whitney Houston is "Somebody" by Natalie La Rose & Jeremih. Also am I the only one who finds the crack kid vine vocal clip really weird on Neyo's “She Knows”? – But I guess it is a good way to get interactive with the digital world.

I love my media too and whenever an advertisement has a striking track, I’m the first to find out what it is. The Microsoft HP Spectre x360 ad is accompanied by 20syl – Bet Dap Goom Bown (Boom Bap Festival Beat). The Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2015 advert song is Nina – My Mistake. Both tracks really stand out to me and are rhythmic with interesting styles.

Let us know what tracks you're into and what you have planned for summer. We hope you enjoy the magazine, we had fun creating it!
