When I think of rock, this is what I hear:

Rory Gallagher - Moonchild

From Dublin, Ireland, Rory Gallagher is a forgotten about rock legend. His finger work on his 6-string brought about tunes that define a specified sound and makes it seem effortless. In this guitar solo, there are glimpses in the soul he carried through his music straight through his fingers. Even though he was taken too early, there are artists off the yin yang to follow in his path.

Twin Peaks - Making Breakfast

Up and coming Chicago band Twin Peaks throws it back to old school. With all the technology available to auto-tune their voices and add some sort of electronic, robot-sounding noise, they keep their music raw.

Eric Clapton- Wonderful Tonight

The one song that brings me to tears. Every time. Eric Clapton is an English musician that nailed it with a song about old school romance. Solely because of the lead guitar, “Wonderful Tonight” slows it down to create a ballad that will make anybody feel beautiful.

That 70's Show theme song

For those people that still watch the season-finale-already-decade-old show That 70’s Show, you are directly or indirectly jamming out to rock from the 1970’s in the theme song.

Let me dare one more thing. At your next party, play the most rockin’ and rollin’ song and see what happens. It will either take you on a trip back to the 70’s or on your knees for a guitar solo, guaranteed.
