Golden Fleece Cricket Club
Indoor League
The first round of fixtures have finished and the Fleece are currently placed 5th having
won 2, lost 4 with one cancelled. The most recent fixtures were against the 2 top
teams and we were dispatched with some disdain in both matches. There follows 3
further fixtures to determine who finishes in the bottom 4 places. Mid-table mediocrity
continues to be the season's goal.
Race Night
On Friday March 14th, we will be joining with the golf club to put on a fundraising Race
Night. This will be held at the golf club and the first race will begin at 7.30 pm. Please
come along and join in what always proves to be a very entertaining evening.
First Fixtures
Our fixture list for 2014 is virtually complete. (With thanks to Ben Steed for his sterling
work). Below are some of the first fixtures which you will note, begin in April. Not long
now!

Sun 27-Apr Beanacre H 2.00pm
May
Thurs 01-May Bishops Cannings A 6.00pm
Sat 03-May Woolhampton H 2.00pm

New Field
Our newest acquisition, the ride -on roller, is running well and will be put to good use
in March as soon as a relatively dry period appears. The square is holding up well
against the continual rain and the outfield is now allowing the majority of water to run
off well.
Indoor Nets
Nets continue throughout March until April 6th. They take place at Melksham Oak
School on Sundays from 7-8 pm. All previous and prospective members are welcome.
We have already encouraged 5 Returners to join us, making use of the free sessions
and coaching. More would be most welcome. Please get in touch if you require further
details.
