The Transformational Truth of Tarot
The Fool’s Journey
Tiffany Crosara
From the Introduction it becomes clear that Tiffany Crosara is passionate about Tarot in fact, you can feel this jumping off the pages. Many Tarot enthusiasts are ready for more depth, more layers and new insight; this book delivers all of this and more. It also contains a personal story, a journey with tarot that I find both interesting and inspiring. I’ve highlighted and written in the margins...key phrases that resonated, new concepts and words of empowerment. Tiffany promises to connect the reader to the tarot through their own emotions, experiences and intuition thus, making tarot come alive.
Each card of the Major Arcana is illustrated in black and white; below the image is the number of the card and a quote. Every detail you can imagine is discussed about each card. First you meet the card to get an overview. Astrologically, Tree of Life, Symbolism, and Neutrality/positivity/negativity are all discussed. What comes next are ways to bring the card alive. Simple exercises are listed and a place for notes after.
Chapter 8 discusses the art of Storytelling with tarot. The author tells us that we must learn to tell the story with the cards in order to have fluent readings. She also tells us to lay the cards down face up stating that the cards are not “...stagnant pictures but energies that flow into each other.”
Chapters 10-13 discuss each card by suit. At the beginning of each chapter there is discussion of the suit and at the end of the chapter there is Positivity/negativity/neutrality and how to work with the element. The information here is helpful and given in a way that is easy to understand.
Chapter 14 begins the Court Cards or The Tarot Family. For those who struggle with Court Cards, I highly recommend this book. Key words are given for Personas and Events. I found this so helpful that I copied it all out into my tarot journal. There are activities for each suite of the Court Cards; these will help you tremendously if you’re struggling.
I consider this a must have book for all tarot readers who want to use tarot for healing, understanding and empowerment. There’s so much more to tarot than what we’re used to seeing! The Transformational Truth of Tarot will take you on a journey and can help you a much better tarot reader
