He hints at a created level of ‘wrongness’, and therefore explains the Sphinx’ connection to the four elements, the four powers, the forces of nature, and a relation to the Tarot: to Know, Swords/Air…to will, Wands/Fire….to Dare, Cups/Water…to Be Silent, Stone/Earth. The Sphinx can fulfill all these powers as a joining, a union, and an integration of all aspects.
Wait, what about those the Croc tries to capture and protect from the Sphinx’ challenge? Are they the product of the wheel’s misfortune? And what of the Monkey who is looking for the powerful enjoyment of turning around and around, experiencing a thrill, or vomiting; walking or climbing through life? Will he always be searching for the perfection he may never find? And what of the Sphinx with her eternal look of satisfaction, being in control, in a place of self-imposed honor a top the Wheel? Maybe we can knock her down a bit, challenge her to a draw, best out of three. After all, we are the product of her questions.
