everything ends with death. Those people are usually less likely to believe in a deity or follow a specific religion. There are conflicting reports about which group is more at ease with death. Some studies suggest that religious people accept death better and others say it is the faithless that are more content. It may be that the feelings about death have more to do with the life the person has lived, or the unfinished business they have rather than their religious association. However, people seek out religion so that they will become a “better person” and to eventually make it to the afterlife of their faith.

Most people confuse being religious with being spiritual. In order to have a close relationship with God one need not be religious at all. Spirituality is available to everyone of every faith or no faith at all.

For example some of the New Age or Earth Based religions that are gaining popularity stress spirituality. The followers of the New Age religions are no less spiritual despite the fact that they are not Christians. They do not go to church but they do gather with like-minded individuals. All of the same benefits received by the people of Christianity are also received by the New Age/Earth Based followers. Some may argue that the New Agers are more spiritual. They usually find their way to their religion by studying many others in an effort to find the right one for them. In many cases they are more knowledgeable about all faiths and sometimes know more than followers know about their own faith. New Age is a religion for the “thinking person”. They are not told to just believe without proof.
