A little more than halfway through the deck, the 13th card, ‘Inverting’ (The Hanging Man in the traditional deck) carries the theme of ‘I surrender’ and is associated with the Hebrew letter mem, seen on the trunks of the trees between which the trapeze artist swings as surrenders her prevailing belief system and so gains a different perspective on her circumstances. Her peacock feather and the water beneath her represent Yemaya, the African goddess and archetype of The Divine Feminine.
The theme of the final card ‘Becoming’ is ‘I dance.’ It’s number 22 and is associated with the Hebrew letter tav (the final letter of the Hebrew alphabet) here seen in the design of the fabric of the archetypal celebrant’s robe as she joyfully dances with abandon, holding the ankh of Isis in her right hand. The background starry grid is composed of a 22-sided sacred geometric shape. The ankh represents her consciousness awakening as she balances her intuition and intellect.
