Any power attached to the use of a symbol resides in there as an energetic repository of a thought. The greater or more directed the force of the thought, the greater the energy or power potentially accessed or retrieved via the symbol. This could work for good or ill. The swastika symbol is widely unacceptable for powerful reasons, but the symbol began its life at least 5000 years ago as a symbol of good fortune, and retains its original meaning in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Odinism.
FEHU is about achieving prosperity in the face of adversity. It’s a luck that must be met at least half way. Recently I called on FEHU for my older daughter. She had applied for a vet nursing job, after more than a year waitressing on zero hour contracts, permanently short of money and at times, depressed. She really needed not only the job, but the boost to her spirits. I asked Fehu to assist her, and three days later, heard she got the job. A co-incidence? This would be the obvious and perfectly reasonable explanation. There was no good reason why she should not have got the job. She was suitably qualified and experienced, possibly even over-qualified for the pay on offer.
The luck factor was the challenge. Another candidate might have been preferred for any number of excellent reasons. People must decide these things for themselves, but having invoked FEHU and having duly received the requested gift, you can bet I’ll err on the side of good manners in saying thanks.
There is plenty a gardener can do in January, if only planning and dreaming. Onions may be planted, and various flower types, annuals and perennials, may begin germination ready for spring. Herbs can be grown indoors.
In January, the great hunter Orion shines bright, striding clear night skies, the Dog-Star at his heels. I wish us all happy planning and happy dreaming, in readiness for striding out in 2014.
