ATTIRE RUNWAY REPORTS
Of Riches And Rags
Designers explored taking the most exquisite of pieces and giving them the disheveled treatment via artfully distressed finishes and styling. How beautifully she’s come undone!
Surplus of Sophistication
Army surplus elevated was a key concept explored within several collections for FW 2013. Melton wools, military details, and loden tones project a “take no prisoners” vibe.
Loco for Coco
Several designers seemed to have Coco on the mind for FW 2013; Chanel references, proportions, and rich fabrics popped up everywhere lending a dash of “lady” to collections.
Flat-fur
Broad tail and astrakhan textures move fur into modern, less bulky proportions for FW 2013.
Jeanetics
Fall’s denim went the way of workwear, in selvage-cut indigo hues or powdery washed-down casts.
Rough and Tumble Plaids
Designers looked to the hardest “working plaids in the business” to add grit to the season’s collections. Nope, your eyes aren’t deceiving you: that’s mid-90’s fave, “ghost plaid” reappearing for FW 2013.
Reign It In
French Vogue’s Emmanuelle Alt rocked this look to the shows in four cities, so we kinda feel confident giving it a whirl next Fall. Brown bridle leather belts looked best over this season’s outerwear.
Maximum Carry-On
Clutches have been major among the fashion pack for quite a few seasons now, but this season designers sent models down runways clutching any and everything smaller than a SUV. Victoria Beckham clearly doesn’t care to hear you complain about this look’s impracticality.
