Xxxxx Community School is one of the SUN’ s top priority target schools with high number of Uni Connect learners. The SUN have worked with Xxxxx Community School to support them with various projects in the past and had established strong working relationship with the school, which were two main reasons for selecting this school.
Students to target were identified by the school’ s heads of departments and were thought to be the groups which would benefit from attainment raising interventions the most. The school was asked to prioritise Uni Connect learners for the project.
Finance / Cost Overall costs £ 10,000 Breakdown of costs TUTORING- 8 staff across English and Maths 12 weeks of tutoring by 8 staff at £ 60 per session( 1hour a week) TOTAL: £ 5760 Cost per head £ 5760 / 18 students = £ 320 per student
INTENSIVES- full day sessions 9 days for English 6 days for maths 2 staff per day £ 130 per staff member for cover £ 340 for refreshments / rewards for the students during their intensive days TOTAL: £ 4240 £ 5760 + £ 4240 = £ 10,000 Cost per head £ 4240 / 114 students = £ 37.36 per student
