The Learning Curve
There is logic to the process of teaching, research, task assessment and examination
at university. There is the expectation that a gradual broadening of the student’s
understanding of a particular subject area will occur. This increased breadth of
understanding would finally – following postgraduate study -- result in a student
being capable of teaching others:
