CEO ’ s Report
Charles Wurf | ATMS CEO
As 2022 draws to a close it is timely to reflect on the achievements of ATMS members over the course of the year . This reflection follows the successful period of The ATMS Chronic Pain Symposium and the ATMS 2022 Annual General Meeting and Optimise Your Practice Seminar , closely followed by the ATMS Natural Medicine Awards 2022 .
These ATMS events highlighted the great successes being forged in natural medicine by members . There remains great encouragement for our collective future in these individual successes . I would like to acknowledge and celebrate the following ATMS members .
For the first time ATMS has awarded the ATMS Higher Degree by Research Scholarship . The first Scholarship recipient is Teresa Mitchell-Paterson for her project Giving voice to patients who have changed their diet to manage a high-output stoma and its impacts on their quality of life .
The ATMS Research Grant 2022 was awarded to Cathy Carmont for her project Women ' s self-management of presenting symptoms with trauma-informed massage .
Teresa and Cathy are worthy winners through a competitive , peer-reviewed assessment for both these awards . The ATMS Higher Degree by Research Scholarship 2022 and the ATMS Research Grant 2022 build upon the foundation of earlier ATMS Research Grants . These awards have the clear focus of continuing to advance the research base upon which the future of natural medicine may be sustained .
